Leontis Cottage is a sensitive restoration and extension project located in the heart of Pervolia village. The design transforms a traditional village house into a warm and characterful short-term accommodation unit, centred around a lush, sun-drenched courtyard. The intervention carefully preserves the original structure’s modest charm—whitewashed walls, pitched terracotta roofs, and simple window openings—while introducing a contemporary annex that complements rather than competes with the existing architecture. A key feature of the project is the intimate courtyard, framed by a series of planted arches and shaded pathways that connect the old and new volumes. Native planting, soft materials, and filtered light create a sense of domestic calm, while the addition of modern amenities makes the cottage ideal for temporary stays. The courtyard becomes not just a transition space but the heart of the dwelling—a private oasis for rest, gathering, and reflection.
