ADP Associate Director Dr Andreas Papallas participated in the first Larnaka Talks event of 2026, contributing to a public discussion on the future development of Larnaka and the challenges of achieving a more sustainable urban future.

The discussion, titled “Larnaka and Development: How can we ensure a sustainable urban future?”, brought together Andreas Vyras, Mayor of Larnaka, Angelos Hadjicharalambous, President of the Larnaka District Local Government Organisation, and Dr Andreas Papallas, Architect and Academic. The conversation was moderated by Michalis Kalopaidis, founder of the Larnaka Talks initiative.

The discussion focused on the relationship between urban growth, planning, infrastructure, quality of life and long-term sustainability, at a time when Larnaka is experiencing significant development and transformation.

Drawing on his experience in architectural practice, research and urban development, Dr Papallas contributed to the discussion on how cities can accommodate growth while maintaining a clear long-term vision, strengthening public space and ensuring that development contributes positively to the wider urban environment.

Participation in discussions of this kind forms part of ADP’s broader engagement with the architectural and urban development issues shaping Cyprus, extending the role of architectural practice beyond individual projects and into the wider conversation about the future of our cities.
