Designed for the Community Council of Pano Platres and conceived as a space for exhibitions and community gatherings, the pavilion reflects both a contemporary architectural clarity and a sensitivity to its mountainous context.
The building’s composition is guided by principles of purity, proportion, and openness. A light horizontal roof plane supported by slender white columns creates a sense of weightlessness, while generous glass surfaces blur the boundary between interior and exterior, allowing the surrounding trees and village fabric to become part of the spatial experience.
Materiality anchors the pavilion to its place. Local stone walls give the building a tactile connection to Platres’ traditions, contrasting with the refined concrete and glass surfaces. The interplay between solid and transparent, heavy and light, creates a rhythm that accommodates both intimate indoor exhibitions and open-air community events beneath shaded colonnades.
The pavilion is not only a venue but also a civic gesture—an open and adaptable structure that celebrates community, landscape, and the timeless qualities of architecture rooted in clarity and simplicity.
